Subject: trip report, Imerial Lanes, Ardmore OK

When out of town, I try to take my two ball bowling bag, stopped in
Ardmore's Imerial Lanes. Went there the Friday arfter Thanksgiving, no
one was there, OK, I got there early. Went back around 12:30 in the
afternoon on Saturday. Walked passed a guy cleaning out the bar.Went
in. No pleasant sound of pins being knocked over. There was three guys
at the counter shooting the shit with the guy behind the counter. I
walk up. How much? (my bag was in the car.) He says $2.50 for shoes,
$3.50 a game. I say, "Any hourly rate?" Answer, No. I walk out and
leave them to their bull shitting session.
It's really too bad that some proprietors don't do more to promote
bowling. My thought is that this guy makes more money off the bar and
couldn't care less about afternoon entertainment.
Me missing out on some practice and going to see a movie is no big
deal, but it would be nice to walk in to a bowling alley on a Saturday
afternoon and see some kids bowling instead of seeing the place empty.
