I have never been in a league, so I was wondering if you need a 200 or more average to be a no handicap bowler.

They enjoy the competition, you try harder . Some leagues have average caps on teams and need a lower average to make the cap. (a cap is alimit on how high a teams average is, say on a 3 man team the cap is 595, Thats 2-210 averages and 1-175average) I'd say you should average 185 to 200 at a minimum, depending on the make up of the league.

Litefrozen is correct..... if you are asking how good you must be to join a scratch league. It is a great way to improve your game. With better competition you can pick up a lot of ideas for your game and since the competition is more intense, your focus should improve also. If you were asking what the average for no handicap is, that depends on league rules. If they are figuring handicap they will have a percentage of the difference between the bowler's average and a base score. That score is usually higher than the highest average bowler in the league. In that case, your average would have to be higher than the base score to be a no handicap bowler. I wasn't sure from your question what you were asking about, thus the second answer. :) Dar "litefrozen" <litefrozen@mothership.com > wrote > >> I have never been in a league, so I was wondering if you need a 200 or >> more average to be a no handicap bowler. >> > Any average can bowl scratch and I've seen lots of lower average guys > bowling in scratch leagues. > They enjoy the competition, you try harder .
