Subject: What's common lane courtesy in your area?
|
I was taught to give two lanes on either side, which if everyone would follow, the night would go by just as quickly. However, at my two local centers it seems like one lane on either side is the norm. When someone walks up to the line with me it's all I can do not to lose my temper and yell at them. One of the local bowlers has his pro card and says it's two pairs on either side for tournaments, and it's strictly enforced to the tune of warnings, fines and even DQs if not adhered to. I shot 626 tonight and had guys a lane over on both sides jumping up on me all night, even after I stepped back for them. I mentioned two-lane courtesy to a few of them and they looked at me like I'm from another planet. Sorry to rant but I'm curious as to if this is even taught anymore.
