Subject: Spare ball to loose?
|
I recently bought a Brunswick Zone (Navy Blue), for a spare ball. I had it drilled like my other balls, and have Magic Carpet in it like the others. The problem is that it comes of my hand early when I throw it. Usually heads for the right gutter (right handed), and comes off my thumb well before reaching my ankle. I turn my hand to a 12 o'clock thumb position when throwing spares like I always have. My question is; should I position my hand the same as when I throw my strike ball (10 o'clock thumb), or move back on the approach to get the ball around my ankle at release? I have been told to throw the ball the same as my strike ball, the pancake block core will stop it from hooking. I use a 4 step stroker delivery, and different balls for different lane conditions.
