OK, when Ken Simard had the first ten, then missed and shot 289. Rob Stone actually said later on that it might've been best that Simard DIDN'T bowl the 300, cause then your concentration is shot and he'd prolly have had troubles in the title match. Is he for real? You're better off NOT bowling the 300? LOL. I'm sure he was almost just as rattled by the 289 and maybe even more so, kicking himself for and reliving the 11th shot that was just a tad wide. I don't think bowling the 300 was gonna "hurt". Dumbest quote in a long time, LOL. T

(smile!) I think it's all about the CURRENT game and CURRENT shot. Not that KS missed intentionally, but to think that his best outcome was anything OTHER than to bowl 300 is ludicrous. He could've made history, an EXTRA $10k, and STILL had just as good a chance to win the title. I really think that being *that close* would've rattled me more than success. T

Actually, there was merit in Rob's statement. All one has to do is recall when Norm Duke belted out is 300 against WRW in the first Earl Anthony tournament, then "crashed" in the title match that followed (he did win, but with a "measley" 230-ish score as I vaguely recall ;) ). If Ken Simard HAD belted the 300, he might've "crashed" worse against Malott. Then again, In A Parallel Universe, Simard would've got his 300 AND crushed Malott with another 300.... (Smirk!) That's the "beauty" of being an "armchair" PBA analyst: you know you're "always right" compared to the guys who are actually doing the job in REAL TV TIME and GETTING PAID to do so.... (smile!)

Considering the source.............I wouldn't expect anything less stupid...........If the PBA is truly interested in restoring it's reputation, they need to get better announcers. Randy Peterson is great. Sometimes you can hear him sigh and roll his eyes when dealing with Stone........LOL -- (Remove "nuttinbut" from email addy to reply direct) --TNL ____________________________________________ <Twp1976@gmail.com > wrote in message news:771f05d5-3212-4f01-8803-ad85fd23b4cf@h5g2000yqh.googlegroups.com... > OK, when Ken Simard had the first ten, then missed and shot 289.
