Subject: Plastic Thumb Insert (not cork)
|
For years, I have used cork insert in the thumb hole. It worked well for me, until somehow, my thumb got cut. Am not sure how it happened, but there it was. The cut would heal, but after a few games, the same old cut would open up. When I went to Reno in 2004, I picked up a bunch of plastic inserts to replace the cork. This works well, but I have since run out. These inserts are made of pliable plastic (like a laminate) but the surface was grippy (if there is such a word), not sticky. It gives me total control of the ball without messing up my thumb. I tried most pro-shops where I live (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) but have not been able to find it. Does anybody know who makes and distributes these? An what are they called? Thanks. Ramon
