Hello good bowling peoples. I've not been bowling for a year, had other priorities, had to access the group through google for a while, and just lost interest. Sorry. I did check in once in a while. (Congrats, Aki!) Anyway, I'm back in a league now, and last night was the first night. Mind, I've not *touched* a ball since the spring of 06. So I have a couple beers and shoot 225, another beer 236, two more beers and 224. Welcome back, eh? Can you say easy lanes and hot backends? Pitch it out there and watch it hit. Damn this game is easy. (yeah I know, I'm just full of crap after one good night on an easy house shot. :-) ) -John O

Thank you for not taking any offense at my reply. :) Again, good luck on this season and I hope the center's lounge helps you and your teammates stay "well lubricated" during your sessions. ;)

(yeah I know, I'm just full of crap after one good > night on an easy house shot. :-) ) Congrats on the 600+ on your first night back. :) With that typed, please indulge the following suggestions, etc.: Since you infer you were on a "dirt easy" shot, perhaps you should, for this league/season, ditch the ball you used last night and exclusively use a WHITE DOT (or similar polyester/plastic ball), drilled CONVENTIONALLY, for all your shooting (striked AND spares). If nothing else, you'll get great practice in "dead straight" deliveries (i.e., effectively killing 10 pins) as well as quick (if not "ignominious"?) education on the importance of proper targeting and trajectory. After all, if the shot is as "easy" as you inferred, it shouldn't be difficult for you to decimate the lanes with a lowly plastic ball and establish impressive "bragging rights" on your skills, etc. ;) With that typed, I hope you have a good season...

I'm not looking for pain and work and effort this season, and no way will I keep this average, especially if we keep drinking. But yeah, I will take a different collection of balls next week, and one of them will be plastic. I normally throw a dead straight shot (with my regular ball) at single pins except for 5-8-9 anyway, so plastic will be an adventure. BTW, the ball is a Track Stomp...five years old now? My last half season was on a Pro Tour Condition league, so maybe I learned something there, even though it's been a while. That league (that oil, actually) kicked my ass. -John O
