Those are not idiots! They are just really stupid business people.
Here in New Mexico we really do have idiots in charge of both politics and
bowling. Bill Richardson is governor of the State and is stupid beyond belief
and Daryl Moyer is in charge of youth bowling but does no actual work to
promote anything but himself.
Both put the word "I" into every sentence they utter and neither actually does
any work.
Bill Richardson actually helped me this week. He over rided a law he signed
into effect so I could get a new drivers license.
Daryl Moyer has never done anything to help anyone. The league he is supposed
to be in charge of as not submitted a single awards request to the Las Cruces
Youth Bowling Association nor the Jim Withers Jr. Youth Bowlers Scholarship
Foundataion this year. While as President of the New Mexico Youth Bowlers he
may be able to authorize granting of YABA awards without going through the
local association he cannot grant the Jim Withers scholarship money without
going through our meetings and due to his position he gets a vote at the
meetings which he does not attend.
The Jim Withers Jr. Youth Bowlers Scholarship Foundation awards a lot of
scholarship money for bowling achievements but our biggest award of the Year
goes to the "Star of the Future" who must be a bowler in YABA but the award has
to do with the bowlers leadership and contrbution to the community and is not
much about bowling.
Our recent past winners include an honor student at UNM (drat), a member of the
US armed forces currently in Iraq, an assistant manager at Sun Lanes and some
other folks who have achieved significant things outside the lanes.
