Are there any goofy games you can play instead of regular golf? I'm
young and I'm trying to organize a group of young 20-something friends
to go out and go bowling. We plan on drinking and getting silly.
Anyone have suggestions?

Here I thought it was a new Disney bowling game.

Try bowling with the opposite hand. Thats always fun.
You can play doubles where one shoots the first ball and the teammate shoots
the spare. If the first person strikes THEN THE NEXT frame the other
guy/girl starts and so on.

My favorite is low-ball...try for the lowest possible pinfall...the
catch is -- gutter on the first ball it counts as a strike, gutter on
the second ball it counts as a spare...thats actually how i learned to
shoot corner pins, but its lots of fun to play...and lots harder than
it sounds

I'm terrible at this game because my 7-pin shot always takes out at least
the 4-8 along with it (I'm a righty), and sometimes the whole two back rows.
I haven't ever developed a "pick off just the 7 shot" because it gives me
less margin for error when I'm really shooting the spare.

isnt Lo-ball the same as golf? if not what are the rules for golf. Also on
Lo-ball I always shoot 10, 10 every ball. If i miss left I get about 4 if I
miss right well if i miss right obviuosly im in the gutter but missing right
doesn't happen alot for me. the left does though. Do your rules say you
cant shoot the same spot every time?

The variant that was taught to me was that zero pins on a ball is a "mark",
so gutter on the first ball is a strike, and missing all the remaining pins
on the second ball is a spare.

As far as I'm concerned, if you can pick off the 10 and put the next
ball in the same hole, you really oughta be accurate enough to shoot
the 7 pin..no, you have to knock down at least 1 pin per ball or its a
mark

You wouldn't want to do that against me and my partner.

Saturday night color pin bowling is fun. Check around and see if one
of the lanes offer it in your area. I haven't done it in a while, but
I remember it as being fun for all skill levels.

Regular golf? Ive been bowling over 40 years and have never heard of a bowling
game called regular golf.

As to the rest of your question ordinary bowling with bumpers up is good for
folks who don't normally bowl.

BlackJack bowling is also fun for folks just interested in having fun. You
spread a deck of cards out and every player draws a card out of it and tries to
get the number of pins the card shows. If you draw an Ace you get a choice of
going for a Strike or only 1. 10 through King require you to attempt a strike.
All numbered cards require you to match the number on the card to score a
strike. If you fail you can still score a spare by converting whatever is left
as in regular bowling

Drawing an Ace or a 2 or 4 is tough to score as a strike. The Ace is hard
because you have a choice of going for 1 or 10 and have to decide.

3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are not easy to do on purpose but possible for better
bowlers.

With 8 or less bowlers you can also play poker at the same time as a side pot
just using the cards drawn.

Friend of mine once suggested that the 2 and 4 should be wild so a natural
strike counts and that is possible too. Sort of makes it Dor Pepper Bowling
because 10-2 and 4 are good cards.

There are basically no limits on how much fun you can have bowling.

I have not bowled a single game since last May but this is by far my most fun
year bowling ever.

I will bowl this year but the fun part is being an officer in the Youth Bowling
Association and voting for a single sanctioning body.

My league's last night of the season, where our two 1st place
finishers (1st & 2nd half) compete in a bowl off, bowl some goofy
games for fun and prizes. Low ball is high on the list, but note that
automatic scoring id a problem and needs to be ignored and in some
cases resets are needed. Another idea is a game we call "The Big
Kahuna". The object is to leave as many of the 4-6-7-10 pins standing
on the deck after your normal 2 ball frame and award points for each
pin standing.
