Subject: Can't slide on bowling alley lanes anymore

I recently started to bowl again after many years. The last three
bowling alleys we went to I noticed that you can no longer slide on the
lanes. You head toward the foul line and wham!!! Stopped dead in your
tracks near falling over due to the non-slide deal. Is it the shoes?
Is it the lanes? Has bowling changed? One of the alleys was a brand
new one, too,.
Bowling does seem to be coming back pretty nicely. I just wish I could
slide. Maybe it is the house shoes? I dunno.
