Most of the time, the winners of tournaments are no real sportsmen, but losers who just were lucky. Bowling is like playing with a slot-machine!!!

My reply is to the Monty Python reference. I'm a big MP fan ever since seeing Holy Grail at about age 5 (blame my parents). The skit PJ references is a man goes in looking for an argument and all he gets is contradiction (yes it is, no it isn't). Eventually he flips out and gives a long diatribe defining and argument as a rationed set of descriptions leading to an end, or some such blather. After a long pause the other guys responds: No it isn't. It's a very funny skit. Take home, just introducing a little humor ;-) Mark

Do you know the guy Mark? He sure sounds like one. John (and everyone else): The clown who started this thread looks more and more like a TROLL - looking for a Monty Python-esque "argument" rather than a real discussion. As I initially responded - He strikes me as a whiner and crybaby who "expects" to just pull out Any Old Ball and immediately get 200+ games wherever he goes. I personally think this thread should just "die a natural death, etc."

There is a big difference. All a slot machine has is a couple of buttons and the computer has control over what it results. Therefore your only control of the slot machine is just a button or 2, but it does not control the results. Bowling is different. You have control of your ball and how you shoot it gives you the results based upon your shooting and physical ability. If you know your lanes well and how to control your swing, ball, etc. you can shoot some really high scores. -John L.

Just like golf, I imagine. These are the people who think hot dog eating contest or poker are indeed sports.
