Question re resurfacing. "The circumference of a ball shall not be more than 27.002 inches nor less than 26.704 inches, nor shall it weigh more than 16 lbs (no minimum weight)." http://members.tripod.com/Tips_4_Tenpin/equipment/Ball_Drilling_Tape/ball_specifications.htm Roughly speaking, and I know it depends on how much of the surface layer is removed each time, how many times can a ball be resurfaced before it no longer meets the minimum diameter requirements? Also, why is there a minimum diameter requirement. I would have thought that the smaller the ball, the worse it will perform when hitting the pins as there is less of it to go around. One answer to a previous post of mine regarding serial numbers stated that the engravings/etchings on a balls surface can be thought of as "wear bars", similar to car tyres. Is there any kind of standardisation of depth for ball markings? TIA.
